Hi Vivian,

Yes, I do enclose both in square bbrackets. Last I knew, the scanning and
proofreading manual advised parentheses, but those can be confused with
listed items, so I opted to change that practise to using brackets.

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] question on footnotes and endnotes

I am looking at a nonfiction book to scan, but this book has footnotes and a
lot of endnotes.
Footnotes are * asterisks, and endnotes are numbered and superscipted.

Do I treat them both the same? Enclosing them in square brackets either with
an asterisk or number?

Thanks,
Vivian
