You can renew it but if you don't finish it and another person gets it, you
loose all the work you did on the book.

I just became a volunteer and was wondering about validating books. The way
I understand it you have a week to validate the book or it goes back into the
validation pool. Are you allowed to completely read the book if it is a book
you enjoy? What happens if you don't finish it in a week? Can someone else
validate it? I mean, what if I am reading the book and don't finish it all in
a week?
