I feel the same way, Kim. The book I am reading now is full of errors, but they are word errors, and it is a PQ book.

Hi, you may respect their right to be wrong, but speaking as a reader, I'd prefer the books I read to be easy to read and tending to be more right. Regards, Kim Friedman.

Sue,

That's an excellent question. I wish there were an excellent answer. Director of Operations Fred Slone and I just finished a 45 minute meeting in which this type problem was a topic. For the books we add the solution is having access to a Google peek or the scan. For PQ books we simply do nothing. Their errors are part of the copyrighted work As somebody once said, "We respect their right to be wrong!"

Scott,

How are those of us who proof and do not have the print book supposed
to distinguish between scannos and errors in the book? I would find it
very tedious to do research every time I see a scanno. I am finding
what seem to be OCR errors in some PQ books. For instance, many when
the word should be
marry, just to give an example.

Sorry, Outlook crashed and did some strange things to a batch of
emails. Let me try again:

It can be helpful to note for the proofreader that there are many
errors in the original when you submit the book.

Unfortunately we are not free to change what we find in the print
version even if we see it is a typo.

Hi everyone,

I have scanned, formatted, and proofed most of this book now (Coping
with Mild Traumatic Brain Injury) but I've discovered that as printed
it has way more errors than I recall from when I was able to read it.
I think I am up to 28 so far. That is a lot for a reader to deal with
but what can we do? Are we allowed to make a note at the beginning
that it has a zillion errors in the print version?

Shall I keep going and submit it? Will it be worth it?
