A good braille translation software should render this information correctly. I have not used Kurzweil or Openbook to convert to braille. But, typically translators based on Duxbury have this capacity. I know that some programs can be set to speak italicized text in a different voice, but I don't know whether the italics are preserved in the Daisy version of books.
