Thanks Paula and Shelley. It's great to have confirmation of what I thought is actually correct. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Paula and James Muysenberg" <outofsightlife@xxxxxxxxx>

Hi, Jill,

If I understand your question, the answer is Yes. One thing that is
helpful in K1000 is to find where the page numbers start in the book, and
set K1000 to the same page number. This allows you to determine whether the
book is missing pages, or whether you just need to add some page breaks.

You must have Operator Defined Page Numbers enabled in the Settings
menu. It's the first item under General. You can then go to the Navigation
menu with Alt-v. Press the letter eto select Set User Page Number. You can
then change the K1000 page number to the actual page number of the book.

The K1000manual has a fuller explanation, but perhaps this will get you
started.

HTH,
Paula

Will someone who uses Kurzweil to proofread please answer this. When a
print page number is read with no corresponding Kurzweil number, can I
assume the scanning was done with one instead of two page mode, and in
that case simply insert a page. Ordinarily in this book the two numbers
are 8 digits apart, but when the single print page is read, then the next
number series is only 7 digits apart. I hope this makes sense to a
Kurzweil user.
