Hi Shelly. Unfortunately, I have office 2007 so I am not sure where to find the normal button. I checked the view tab and it's not there. My zoom was indeed set to 100 percent. My book and other document I read are always in the Draft view which is what you would have if you had office 2003 or lower. I appreciate everyone's suggestions. Unfortunately, it still shows me the blank lines when using Jaws.

Hi Monica,

Look under the View menu,
I
s Normal checked?

If not hit enter on normal

If that doesn't work

Go to View and then Zoom, and pick 100%

For some odd reason usually these fix the problem.

it is indeed a very very annoying one.

Thanks Bob. I tried that but no luck. I also hit Alt with the space bar
and tried to go to maximize. First it said size unavailable and maximize
unavailable.

Just a guess, but maybe your document is not maximized on the screen.
Press windows+m and alt+tab until your document comes back up and see if
that fixes the problem for a while.

Hello again. I am reading a book in Rtf in Word 2007 with Jaws. As I'm listening, gling down each line with the down arrow key, all of a suden Jaws
keeps saying blank line. I hit the down arrow key a few times. They I
press the up arrow and words start being spoken again. Weird. Any
thoughts.
