You're not going to get blank lines in the braille files you download from Bookshare anyway, whether the original had blank lines in it or not. So you don't need to worry about that.

Hi Cindy
I will go for indented. Jaws goes to wherever the text is but I don't think I would like a lot of blank lines when I am reading braille. I prefer reading my books in braille.

O.K.--now I need to ask again.

A couple of years ago, I think it was, I asked about
paragraphs and at that time more people found indented
paragraphs easier to read than those with lines
skipped between them. Whether they were Braille or
Jaws readers I don't remember--so I've been using
indented paragraphs. Sometimes, when there is a lot of
dialogue, paragraphs have to be indented rather than
have line spaces between them or they won't fit on the
proper page.

So what do most of you prefer? Bob, you've already
answered. smile

G.Cindy

I personally
would prefer to have a
blank line between paragraphs rather than an
indented first line of a
paragraph. The speech program that many of us
use--called JAWS--can be made
to read blank lines if we so wish, but if we make it
tell us all the
indented lines, it will read any line that may be
indented (chapter headings
or chapter titles, for example) telling us, not only
that the line is
indented, but by how much. There's such a thing as
too much speech, and
indented lines can create too much speech.

This is just my opinion, however.
Thanks,
Bob
