Hi Lissi,
Unfortunately, the Bookshare tools are going to gobble up all the spaces.
Whenever there is more than one space, the tool will remove all but one. So
no matter what the text of the book is going to be flush left, but when you
have paragraphs within paragraphs you can put the one space between the
linebreak and the beginning of the text. It's not much, but that's about all
we can do. I think the reason for the tool behaving as it does is that
sometimes in scans you can get big globs of spaces that aren't really there
for any reason--they're just caused by the OCR--the scanning
software--imitating the original format of the book or some characteristic
of the binding.
Hope this helps,
Kellie
