The page numbers are moved to the top of the page by the Bookshare tools anyway. However, I have asked myself a similar question before too. Just how smart are those Bookshare tools anyway? I frequently scan books in which most of the page numbers are at the top of the page, but on the first page of a chapter they are at the bottom. I may be doing something completely unnecessary, but just to be safe I move those numbers to the top.

Thanks. One of the books I'm proofing, a "fun" dictionary, has has numbers on top on some pages and on the bottom on other pages Since the reading isn't consecutive, like a story, and the letters of the alphabet for the definitions (the very first pages of definitions is a symbol , are on the upper right corner, would it be necessary to relocate the page numbers for Nichole?*From:* Valerie Maples <vlmaples@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> *To:* bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx *Sent:* Friday, July 6, 2012 7:02 AM *Subject:* [bksvol-discuss] Re: page number location I standardize them all one or the other, preferably top for me, since they can be double read and as a listener, Nichole finds that distracting. I don't think there is a fixed policy on it, though ... I know we can have page numbers anywhere on a page, top or bottom, rght or left , but not both on the same page. My question is can they be in different places on different pages?Or do they have to be consistent? *From:* Roger Loran Bailey <rogerbailey81@xxxxxxx> *To:* bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx *Sent:* Thursday, July 5, 2012 5:44 PM *Subject:* [bksvol-discuss] Re: page number location Are the corners even relevant in a Bookshare ebook? I had never thought about it, but I wouldn't think so.
