Hi,I think that catalog approach is a good idea, although the only thing I currently buy that way is dress shoes because my feet are extremely narrow. My current method for clothes is to shop at nice stores like Macy's/Belk's/Cold Water Creek when they have sales, going with someone I trust with good color sense. The person I trust the most in this regard is my mother, so I usually go with her. (And I'm thirty. OK, laugh!--I do.)

NOt a bad idea. Maybe you could get the guys from Queer Eyes for the Straight Guy to help. They're doing it for more than just guys now, I think, though I haven't watched the show in a while. It's cool, though. Cindy --- Elizabeth and Burton <thoth93@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:I bought several pairs of nice tailored black pants. It does not solve everything but it helps. I buy nice tops in colors to go with them with help from someone I trust. One good thing to do is sit down with someone and a good catalog (from Macies or Nordstrum's when they have sales and not when no sales) and shop that way. The thing I like about catalogs is, if you know your size, they send you things and let you return and exchange things. The other thing is just to go somewhere with someone you trust and go to a store you know has good things when they are on sale. I go to Marshals or Macies around here. Use good stores and wait for their sales. Find someone gay if you can. ( I am serious.) I mean find someone who is gay with interest in fashion or a friend with good fashion sense. If you have a good relationship with a "personal shopper" at a store, that too can work though I go with someone who know me and knows the kinds of thing which work at my job (when I had one until recently). Remember some kinds of things stay in fashion such as black pants and nice silk blouses. E.
