Hi all,
Yeh, I know the feeling. My grandmother was an excellent cook. I
would never try to make her pita bread. Oh, yes, my friends, my
grandmother made pita bread from scratch. I tried it once, and it was
a flop! I can make pretty good Hummus though and I think I could make
kibbe if I got the notion. I have the recipes. But pita bread, no, no
chance. Nope, the know-how that traveled with Grandma from Zehle in
the Bakha Valley of Lebanon is lost. <sigh> Oh, well, es la vida, no?
She could make Pita bread and grape leaves and kibbe and stuffed
squash. It was all fantastically delicious.
