I believe the temporary suspension of web braille to be just that,
temporary. I spoke with Mr. C. and he assured me the suspension was
technical and based on security needs. Rather than signing an angry
petition, waiting just a bit to find out if the fix is done in a timely
manner seems wiser. Signing the petition, particularly if it is angry in
tone, may do little to help and may do some harm. (I have not read the
petition so cannot speak to its tone. I also remember when I spoke of the
tone of other petitions, I was flamed in a strong manner on this list
several months ago.)

It is far too early to take this route. I think anybody who signs this petition at this time is not giving nls a reasonable chance to work out whatever issues need addressing. Further, the petition is so clearly one created out of anger, that it simply makes those who support it look very petty and ignorant about this subject.
