The optic book, unlike the reading edge, comes w/software that's designed to decrease book distortionshadow, etc. Also, the edge is a pretty dated scanner--very good for its time, but... U do have to be careful not to have page overlap, e.g., putting the book so close that a little of the other page is visible.
