This is the reason a separate kick back step 1 list would be valuable. The person who last validated the book could have access to it quickly and could check to find out if books he or she validated were on it. The best way to have such a list would be to only let the person who last validated the book work on it from "kick back step 1" to avoid somebody doing a small fix and getting credit and the avoid a corrected file being lost when the original is again posted to step 1 as now happens.

Cindy, I agree that if the kicked back copy was the validated copy it would help when all that is needed is a simple title or author fix. But then a person could do a simple author fix and get the credit for validating it when the person who validated the book really did the hard work. I think that validators need to be aware that they have to keep checking back to make sure a book they validated doesn't show back up on the step one list. Deciding to become a validator or scanner is sure a hard thing. I was scared to death to join here. There is so much to remember that isn't really written down.
