Hi all,
um, yes, Jamie, it is illegal. It does save money, but if the network
you're using isn't from a cafe or public place, you could get in
trouble. Now, if your next door neighbor allows you to use his/her
network, that's an entirely different kettle of fish. If your city has
one of those neighborhood networks, that's also a whole other kettle of fish.
That's huccum it's really important to protect your wireless networks,
folks. Not only can unauthorized people use it, but they can also, if
they have the skill, look at all the files on your computer, and they
can rewrite them or change them or whatever. If you have credit card
info on your computer, this is particularly wanted by unscrupulous
people, and they can get it if your network isn't protected.

others may be.

Using an open network isn't legal? I had no idea!
I finally have internet at home and it's so nice again. I hate lugging
my laptop everywhere to use the library's internet or the wifi at work
on my break.
