I would suggest use a standalone scanner. You'll find it easier to work with because it is only 2 or 3 inches above the table. This makes it much more comfortable when scanning books. I've used both HP and Epson in the past. My preference is the Epson. The drivers are easy (or at least were easy) to install. It's been a few years since I purchased one but even updated drivers install well. -----Original Message----- From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of tina sohl Sent: Friday, January 23, 2015 9:42 PM To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bksvol-discuss] new scanners Hi. HI just bought a Canon all in one printer/scanner today but we cannot get it installed on my windows 8 machine. Canon apparently has a lot of graphical interface which system access cannot see. I'm trying to see if a friend can help me, but if not, is there something I can buy that has drivers preinstahlled or is everything being made so that the software is on a discc and windows won't jut go to the web and download the software? Would love ideas as to what to do or what to buy should I not be able to get this installed. any help would be great.
