Uninstall any current scanner software, and immediately thereafter, or at least after the next "reboot" use (shift_del) on "windows\twain_32" folder and subsidiary folders so it won't leave Windoes confused, don't worry the folder will be recreated during installation of OpticBook 3600 software. 3. Unlock scanner head lock located behind front right foot of scanner, front being book edge, rear being top's hinges. Plug scanner into USB II port on computer, and power and power-up the scanner. 4. Install software. 5. DO NOT REMOVE "Option Express OpticBook manager from StartUp group under any circumstances. 6. Have trustworthy sighted person access "task Tray.OpticBook Action Express.utilities" and advance scanner light on durration slider as far as it will go (15 minutes or... 7. Run "program files\kurzweil educational systems\diags\scanconf.exe" set all "ADF" related parameters including "Full Duplex" to "off/disabled", "Native Scan" to "on/enabled", "Hold Scanner" to "never" and, "Fast Cancel" to "enabled". Finally, "click" on "Done". 8. Make sure "WIA" scanner driver is selected in Kurzweil 1000.scanner settings.scanner source" (alt_t s alt_s) make sure "WIA" OpticBook Driver, is selected, then, "OK" and Save Settings in Default Settings file, (alt_t v) and "enter" 9.
