Hi Christine,

It shows-up as an RTF file, but the formatting has been stripped. I honestly
don't know what is happening. *sigh* I think I am going to bed...I am too
frustrated to deal with this.

Hugs,

Maithe

  Maithe and all,

Maithe, I feel your pain. I scanned ten textbooks for school over winter
break, and this same thing happened to half of them. I, too, have OpenBook. I
also saved the files as RTF while in OpenBook, and I also tried to open them in
Word to pre-validate before I submitted. One question: Is your file still an
RTF file? I know I saved all of mine as RTF in OpenBook, but when I looked at
the filenames after I opened them in Word and realized the page breaks were
missing, all five of them had magically turned into TXT files. I actually don't
know how much any of this is going to help you, but you are definitely not
alone. I am still trying to rescan after the disappearing page break fiasco. By
the way, if you do find a solution to this problem (or even if you just figure
out why it's happening), please let me know. Even if it can't be reversed, I
would sure like to know what made it happen in the first place.

  Christine
