Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: mystery series by Baynard Kendrick
Interestingly I didn't find that author when I looked on Amazon though the
series was listed in fantastic Fiction under his name; when I looked up titles
of books supposedly by that author they showed up as being by Baynard Kendrick;
I didn't find any of those books in our collection under Kendrick's' name
just the MacClain books; I'll search some of the titles and if we don't have
the books I'll order them from Amazon and mail them to if you're willing to
scan them; can you do paperbacks if I don't care what the scan is like as I'll
have the books if you mail them back to me;? Wait -- if you give me you
address I'll have them sent directly to you, as long as they're not from third
party sellers and I don't have to pay shipping; I have free shipping from
Amazon Prime; let's see what happens; if they're too expensive, I may have
to give up the idea; I'll check it out and get back to you; they sounded
like something I'd like to read and I thought I could "kill 2 birds with one
stone so to speak, read them and proof them so others could red them too, but
it depends on how much they cost; they are pretty old and may be unavialable at
a decent price; the only Kendrick books available from my university library
is in special colellctions; I haven't checked my loca llibraries yet;
more later

Cindy, I couldn’t find the mysteries on either thrift books or amazon. If you
can get them and get them to me and I don’t have to send them back, I’ll scan
them. Oh, if you want to proof them, I’ll of course send them back.

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] mystery series by Baynard Kendrick
The collection has 16 Duncan Maclain mysteries by Kendrick;I remember proofing
a couple and really liking them; that collection seems to be complete, but
when I checked fantastic Fiction because I wanted to get some of the books s I
hadn't read I found he wrote a series about a character ( detective?) named
Miles Standish Rice. It's a Miles Standish Rice series; I still have 2 books
to finish proofing but then I have noting to do; the reader reviews were
positive -- the reader of the first one wrote: a good mystery with unexpected
twists and turns; I think I can get it from one of my libraries and if anyone
wants to scan any of the books I'd be happy to proof them ;
Cindy; here is the list from Fantastic Fiction:
Miles Standish Rice Mystery series
1.The Iron Spiders (1936)
aka The Iron Spiders Murder
2.The Eleven of Diamonds (1937)
3. Death Beyond the Go-thru (1938)
