I always loved it when someone would call my dog "one of those blind dogs."  I 
was always tempted to say that the dog was fine.  <grin>
Btw, the use of the dog was the worst part about Longstreet.  Early Edition did 
it much better.

  Seeing Eye dogs only come from Seeing Eye in N.J.  All others are 
  guides.  I write this as reference.  People are starting to say "service 
  dogs" to dover dogs who either act as guides for blind folks or help others 
  with other disabilities such as hearing or other mobility issues.  Just a 
  note for clarification and certainly not a criticism.
