Sorry, Larry--I started out with a 3800. I didn't have to do anything to it to make it work with Kurzweil and Abbyy FineReader. I twiddled with settings a bit, till they made me happy, but my very first scan was perfect! Did you notice any differences in how k1000 operated after migrating to the 3800 if you did. And I do use Kurzweil 1000. I do use Abbyy FineReader, though, and not ScanSoft. I just never had good luck with ScanSoft. Would be interested in hearing other people's feedback, though. Has anyone on the list migrated from an OpticBook 3600 to an OpticBook 3800 and uses k1000? Have you noticed new behaviors pertaining to how the scanner functions? Do you have any settings suggestions to fix the problems either in Kurzweil or Scanconf?
