The book is called The Practice of Everyday Life by Michel De Certeau I read about the first 5 pages of it, and it is definatly a sociology book. It basically covers how our culture influences our behavior on a daily basis. Without some background knowledge on the social sciences, it wouldn't be an easy book to read. It's either sociology or social psychology, but I'm not sure wich since Those two rhelms of the social sciences sort of intermingle quite a bit. That may not even be what this book is about, but that would be my best guess. Either way, that synopsis isn't really what I would call proper English, or scientific for that matter. Scott -----Original Message----- Does anyone know what the following sentence means? Michel de Certeau considers the uses to which social representation and modes of social behavior are put by individuals and groups.
