Hi, Laura Ann, I'm not blind. But my husband noticed that the Mac is coming out, or has, with accessibility for the blind. I did some research, and there's an NFB trans 7.74 for the Mac, URL http://mac.softpedia.com/get/Utilities/NFBtrans.shtml "NFBTRANS is a Grade Two braille translator. NFBtrans translates text files to braille or braille files to text in both English and Spanish. The program converts ascii text into braille and sends the result to a file or an embossor. Special formatting commands may be placed in the text to customize the output. NFBtrans is free and can be downloaded as an installer package or as source code. NFBtrans was developed by the National Federation of the Blind." and also a Duxbury braille translator URL http://www.dancingdots.com/prodesc/duxburybrailletranslator.htm Also, apparently there is or will soon be a new Daisy player for the Mac. And there's something called Read and Write Gold for the Mac. URL: http://www.enablemart.com/productdetail.aspx?pid=959&dept=20&store=10 I think a couple of people on the list here use the Mac. HOpefully they can give you more info.
