MessageWow! Okay, just for clarrification, does Kurzweil add extra page breaks
while actually scanning a book into .rtf format, or does this occur when
converting from .kes or some other file format to .rtf? Has this problem been
corrected in later versions of Kurzweil?

Jenny

I had to get my husband to sort out one for me, the book was 800 plus pages
and K1000 9.2 turned it into over 2000 pages. I had just spent all day July
4th trying to fix it up, spell check it edit it and when that happened I nearly
lost my cool.

Titles are good! They make identities.

When I had Kurzweil 8.X it would add pages to .rtf files, one being over 800
pages instead of the 250 it was supposed to be. I learned that command well.

Dear Mickey, The Certified Proofreader, and All,

Thank you for that tip. Kelley was right that back space hasn't worked on
eliminating page breaks when I'm in word RTF I'll definitely give your tip a
try when an extra break appears. It rarely happens, but when it did, I felt so
helpless when I couldn't disappear it.

I hope you didn't mind me giving you a title, smile.

    Always With Love,

    Lissi

Lisi, to merge pages, use control-shift-enter.

          Hi Jill:

You can insert the page breaks. Just press shift enter.

I have scanned Empire Falls with Kurzweil and in addition to my
problem of its not reading Part One, etc. because the print was too large,
somewhere along the line I must have been scanning two pages with
therecognition set to only do one. I know where the page break should be
because of the print numbers, but is there any way to create this now or am I
going to have to scan the about 100 pages involved. I will be anxiously waiting
to hear from someone as the book has been put through ranked spelling and is
ready to submit otherwise. If you are a Richard Russo fan as I am, you will
really enjoy this book. It is replacing the "fair" copy.
