Hi Lori,

Well, I don't know about a secret. But you can do a find and replace to get
rid of those. The verticle bar is created by capitalizing the backslash
key. So, if you type that in the find box of the find and replace dialogue
and nothing in the replace box, then replace all, they'll all go away. The
broken verticle bar is something you can find using JAWS if you press the
JAWS insert key and the 4 in the number row, JAWS will bring up a list of
special characters. If you look through that list and hit enter on the one
that you want, it will print it into your document. So, for broken verticle
bar, I'd place my cursor at the top of my document, make that list paste the
character where your cursor is, then select that character, and find and
replace with nothing. And those will disappear too.

Does that help?

Mayrie

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] locating od symbols

Hi,

Is there a secret to finding stray bars or broken bar symbols. I took a peak
in the special symbols under find and replace and didn't see anything there.
