[bksvol-discuss] list subject matter

The following message reminded me of discussions that have gone on in the past regarding getting the lists back to what they were intended for.
I know a number of submitters find it valuable to notify both lists when they submit a book, and I presume this is because they feel that there may be volunteers that aren't on both lists, but the intent is that this should be the volunteer list and for those who aren't volunteers it can be confusing to post to a list where they may not understand they won't have access to the book for a while. It also unnecessarily increases the number of messages on 2 lists that already have a substantial volume of mail in the course of a day. If someone wants access to breaking news on new submissions they should be on the volunteer list, if they are having problems signing up on this list then the problem should be addressed, and hopefully a fix can be developed so others won't have the problem as well.
Not intending to be a pain about this, or to come down on those who regularly post copies to both lists, but the next thing that's going to happen is that the already over burdened Bookshare staff is going to start getting messages asking why they can't find such and such a book in the library, because they know it has been submitted, or we are going to get 15 to 20 messages explaining to someone on the discussion list why they can't find it.
