Hi, Pam! Was the book already falling apart when you checked it out? If
that's the case, this is in no way your fault, and the librarian should not
attribute it to you. If a book isn't falling apart already, I don't see
that a person could seriously damage it by holding it down on the scanner.
Take care!
Jana
Hi,
Have any of you ever had complaints from libraries about the spines of books getting too much of a workout from books being scanned? One of the books that I got recently was falling apart when I got it. I could tell they were less than thrilled when I ordered some books the other day, and then when one of them came in today, they asked that I be careful when scanning it. Not really sure what I can do about it though. I won't compromise the scan by pressing more lightly on the book and you have to open it as wide as it will open. Hope I'm not eventually barred from the library. That would not be fun.
Pam
