Hi all,

DAISY navigation depends on the headings within the document. That's why we are asked to change the size of chapter headings and section headings. The size of the type determines the level of DAISY navigation. When you put a section in 18 points, it tells the converter that this is a level 1 navigation point. If chapters are in 16 points in the same book, that tells the converter that this is level 2 in the DAISY scheme. On the other hand, if there are only chapters in the book at 16 points, that becomes level 1. See, there's method in Bookshare's madness and why the rules for the way books are "marked up" are so strict. Unfortunately, publishers are not held to the same rigid standards as are volunteer scanners/proofers. I dunnow if that's good or bad.
