You make a point that has always mystified me. That is that school children frequently use words that you would consider adult. As a matter of fact, if you hang around a playground you will hear them constantly using such words. So why are they considered adult words when they are so integral in children's vocabulary? Why do adults go to such lengths, including Bookshare policy on such matters, to shield children from hearing or even being aware of such words as if somehow it will harm them while at the same time they are acutely aware of them and use them so frequently? If such adults will remember their own childhoods they will recall that it was the same in their time. The taboo has always struck me as some kind of insanity.
