Spaces don't really matter since BS strips them. The only thing would be spaces before certain punctuation marks which you'd have to search for. You can search for tabs as well with the backslash t. Use the backslash symbol not the word.

When scanning or proofreading, is there any way to tell when there are extra spaces or tabs by just listening to speech? Also where do I find instructions for centering? TIA.
