  Subject: [bksvol-discuss] jaws question

  Hi

I'm having some difficulty navigating the bookShare website with Jaws. This
has been going on for three or four weeks maybe. Before that it was fine. When
I bring up book lists and try to tab from one link to another, Jaws repeats
whatever the first link says and doesn't advance. I have to use the arrow keys
to go down the list. I"m using Jaws 10 on one computer, but am using Jaws 9 on
my other computer. I'm having the same difficulty with both. Is anyone else
having a similar problem? I'm trying to figure out if it's my Jaws or the
website.

  Thanks.

  Denise

It seems the atypical fonts are a bigger problem for me right now, but no
problem since I am sighted as is Doug.

One thing I was going to mention to you is that board books may not
actually "scan" well. You may have to type in most or all of the text on the
pages. Sometimes it is huge font in color that the scanner doesn't pick or up
if it does, the OCR program doesn't accurately recognize it. I frequently have
to do this for children's books.
