Chiming in on Valerie's recollection: This is an example of a practice that was designed to balance the different Bookshare readerships where visual format, text-to-speech output, and Braille conversion all must be held in balance. Understanding that these sorts of compromises have been agreed upon through long practice and discussion the most helpful next steps are to help members understand ways to best navigate through them. For example, turning on (or off) punctuation vocalization in a screenreader. Many people with dyslexia or severe physical impairments cannot type word searches easily, so it is the least harmful solution. Is that making sense? On Wed, Jun 1, 2011 at 9:43 PM, Cindy <popularplace@xxxxxxxxx<mailto:popularplace@xxxxxxxxx>> wrote: Most (all?) indexes are allphabetically arranged.
