What version of jaws are you using? If it's very old (I mean really old) you won't have a form mode.

Dear Ann, Gail Tom, and Booksharian Friends,

I still haven't found a way to get to the browse button at the bottom of the first page of the form when uploading a book I've validated.

I'm using the latest version of JAWS and Windows XP.

I was told by people who know what they're talking about to turn forms field off when in the field where the file name goes, but every time I try that the page vanishes and reappears with an error message telling me I left the file field blank or something to that affect.

The only way I can fill out that field is to use the sighted mouse to click on browse. This takes me a long time because the cursor is hard for me to see. I move the mouse around and around with my nose mashed against the screen as my eye peers inch by inch up, down and over until I find that cursor spot. When I move the cursor toward the browse box, I always lose it as my vision can't track it. It can take Ten minutes or more of this tedious eye and mouse game until I click on browse and with great relief can go back to listening to JAWS to finish the form.

I'm not complaining because I'm lucky to be able to tap that button one way or another, but I'd love to know how I can help JAWS to find it for me. Volunteers have actually done the forms off thing on my computer and been mystified that it makes the page disappear because that technique works fine on their computers.

If anyone has any ideas about what I can do to submit or upload a book relying completely on JAWS I'll be grateful.

Always with love,

Lissi
I've been told that I should turn forms

Hi I'm not sure if anyone has responded to the browse problem. As a window-eyes user I can tell you that it's not difficult, just hit the tab key once more then hit the space bar to change the selected field to the brows button and begin tabbing to the look-in section and find what your looking for.Tom ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ann Parsons" <akp@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi all,

That isn't Gail's problem, Meka. Her problem is that in System Access, the screen reader she is using, the browse button for the Step Two page does not show at all.

In Jaws it works properly. In Window-eyes it shows up as an edit field that seems to have two parts to it. So, Gail is wondering how to even access the button let alone use it.
