Hi Hope. Yes, the unzipped files are always read only because the unzipping
puts the file into its own directory under temporary folders I think. Next
time you should go to file and save as then tab over to the combo box that
says "save file in combo box" and select my documents, or desktop, or where
ever you want to save the file. Then hit the save button or press alt with
s to save. Once the file is saved into a different directory, you can save
changes while you edit. Of course, I always change the file extention to
.rtf when I do the first "save as" so I don't forget later. hth

Since I am knew at this maybe something happened in the unzip process. I have been trying to use Micro Soft Word to make corrections however, when I try to save the file it says read only and will not allow me to close word with out shutting down. I did release Cloudy Jewel. Maybe the release did not take.
I am sure you did a good job. I am not able to read the instructions for validating. When I click on a book in the Step one down load page it gives me the option to click on instructions for validating. When I try to click on them the computer plays a two not base guitar sound and does not down load the instructions. Please bear with me I will have my settings checked.
