Hi, Jackie. I agree with you that there should be a balance here. Some books have been around for a very long time, and that's not fair to the submitter or people waiting to read the book. The thing that concerns me is that when a person takes a book with a hold for someone else, there may be some issues that the submitter had communicated to the person for whom the book is being held, issues that the person taking the book knows nothing about. In Julie's case, I was supposed to work on her book because it needed some special attention. Julie has the print book, and we were both committed to making sure it was a clean scan that's easy to read. She posted it in the evening. I went to step 1 the next morning, and the book was gone. In fact, it showed up in the admin queue later that same day. It's possible that someone did a really good job with it. However, I feel a little uneasy about that because of how quickly it went into the admin queue. I honestly don't mind that someone else worked on the book as long as they were careful with the validation. After all, the point is to get our books approved for everyone to read. I'm not angry about it. I do feel sort of frustrated though and think I somehow let Julie down by not moving fast enough.
