Dear Gerald, Jamie and Josh, In the time it took me to describe my problem, you solved it. I might have had big trouble. WPS could have stood for Warning, Pulverized System, the beginning of the end of my computer! Very quick responses, all of you! Gerald and Josh, I was positive I'd messed up yet again and taught my computer another bad habit! Or, what if it had begun speaking in tongues and all future file extensions were going to be gibberish!! It could happen! I'm not only relieved that my computer was calling it as it saw it, but happy to have learned the acronym for another computer extension and learned how to properly identify the cause if I should ever need to reject a book which comes to me with WPS. Jamie moves at the speed of light. She's already prepared the RTF file, I've downloaded it and, because it was such a short, perfectly scanned book, I'm already finished validating. Jamie, Thank you. that was even easier than I'd hoped for. Now I'll get back to Tolkien's languages, history and historical fiction. Seems like there's a reason for rejection that is something like Book is in an Incorrect Format. That'd be the one to use when this happens. You will also want to mention in the comments that it had a WPS extension so Gustavo understands what was wrong with the format. And it does happen. Jake's found 2 or 3 TXT files submitted under RTF or KES since Bookshare stopped accepting them. According to the information on step one, it was an RTF file. I downloaded it as I've done my other books and it arrived in my validations in progress folder in my documents. Then I used the extract command to retrieve the unzipped RTF file, but got a file that says the following, instead. Daddy_Makes_the_Best_Spag WPS File 11 KB What is WPS, and how can I get RTF? I probably think I'm following the normal procedure. but slipping in some goofy command without noticing. If I can't resolve this problem by tonight, I'll release Spaghetti back to step one so another volunteer can validate it handily and add it quickly to the collection. Oh, and wish a couple of my validations well. Yesterday I uploaded Shadow Baby, a beautifully written, wise and touching novel, and today I uploaded an in depth, fascinating but a bit racy biography of Robin Williams. Thank you. Always with love, Lissi
