Hi Bud!

About a year ago I scanned an entire book and saved it. Word had a problem
and I ended up losing the entire book. Now, I back up all my books, whether
scanning or proofreading, to a flash drive. It's saved me more than once. I
also copy the original RTF file I download from Bookshare before I even open
it. That way I always have a backup copy in case I accidently replace or
remove something I shouldn't.

I'm so sorry this has happened to you, but I guess some things just work out
that way.

Blessings.

Lynnsky

You're right, but I scan 50 pages at a time and then go back over them and
delete headers and fix page numbers etc. I never have felt I needed to save
a backup copy, but now I can see the reason for it. I've never done this
before because I've never had a book that the title was the name of a place
that was repeated many times throughout the text. I've learned my lesson
now. Thanks for the feedback. I am starting to scan it again and I will
take precautions this time.
