My experience is that, if the beginning of the selection is bold, pressing control b turns all bold off, but, if the beginning of the selection is not bold, pressing control b turns bold on, then a second press turns it off. I've not ever simply had it reverse what was already there. However, if this is not working for you, I would try pressing control a to select all, then pressing control d to bring up the font menu and select regular from the font style box, and pressing enter. Though, if I didn't want to get rid of all the bold I would try using Misha's explanation of the find and replace. Font should be found under the format menu in the find and replace dialog.

Hmm. That's really weird. I do this all the time, and it bolds everything, then unbolds everything.
