The wish list is still there, but it is a bit hard to find because one must click the contact us link first and find it as a choice under that. It is not for textbooks only. There is a check box in the request form asking if it is a textbook or otherwise necessary for school. It is unchecked by default. Textbooks and other books for school are given priority. As for the question of whether anyone is looking at the wish list, since the availability of books on the download list for proofreaders has been sparse lately Bookshare has taken to scanning books from the wish list and putting them up there for proofreading. The ones from the wish list have the words wish list in the title field. Those are definitely not textbooks.

That service of requesting books only pertains to textbooks which are
required for a course.  Doesn't even include self-study.

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] for vanessa, donating books

I asked this on twitter and never got a response. At one time you could
send in hard copy books and bookshare would scan them and get them in
to the collection. That has since stopped, and I wanted to know if
there were plans to ever bring that back. I was told that I could
request  books which I've done. I wondered if requests are really
looked at and added or is all of this only pertaining to texxtbooks and
nothing more?
