I am wanting your confirmation.
I am mostly a scanner for submission.
I had a book recently, which had tons of ellipsis occurrences.
I think I know and understand about how it is supposed to be for Bookshare.
We want the 3 dots snugged up to the word on the left.
And if it is a period and an ellipsis it should still only be 3 dots. Not
the period and then the 3-dot ellipsis.
Does that sound correct?
Now this book I just had, with so many ellipsis.
It would have the sentence ending with a period, then a space, and then 3
dots, and then a space, and then continue with the next sentence.
So if the above is the correctly stated Bookshare preferred form, should I,
as the scanner, and eventual submitter, when I come upon them, change them
as printed and put the 3 dots up against the last word in the sentence?
Would this be most helpful for you, Bookshare volunteers and staff, who are
the proofreaders?
If so, I will try and do so. Although in truth, I know that I am listening
and not looking and it is probably often that I may miss them. I generally
find them when I hear a pause, and I stop and investigate.
I hope I made some sense, above.
Thank you.
Best,
Richard (Rik) James
