Dan, You probably managed to uncheck the checkbox that asks "Always ask before downloading?". It's located on the dialog box which contains the buttons to Save or Open the file. I'm not sure how to reset the checkbox, but it sounds like from what you described that it may be specific to a given web page since Bookshare uses a single web page to download every book from the collection and a different one to download books from Step 1. If that's the case, then you might clear it up by deleting your cookies. If that doesn't do it, then you should at least be able to save the file using the Save Target As option in the context menu for the DAISY link until you're able to determine how to reset the checkbox or if it's being caused by something else. It only started recently and I can't find a way to fix it. I hope someone out there knows how to fix it. When I go to download a book from Bookshare it works fine until I get to the actual point of pressing enter on the Daisy link. At that point the page indicates that it is pull in the file info but once it is done it then proceeds to download the book and opens the unpacker. In the past when it got to this point it would stop and ask me if I want to open or save the file first. I checked the security settings under internet options. It seems to be set correctly. If I try to download any other file such as one of the rtf files from the volunteer validation page it works the way I expect. It stops and asks me if I want to open or save the file. I'd like it to always ask me instead of automatically opening the file. Any ideas on what is wrong? Thanks.
