Hi all, Original message:
What an appalling nasty note, Ann.
Why? I agree, the review as you quote it does make one flinch. That's not appalling or nasty. It's worth flinching over. It's saccharine, it's drivel. I was agreeing with you and saying that it is probably not the author of the book's fault, but is probably taken from the book jacket. I thought that the author of the review, not the book was over the top. It is, as I say, worth flinching over.
Therefore, I advised you to read the book, make your own judgment and write a review. That's not nasty, cynical, yes, but not nasty.
Sorry, guess I didn't express myself well enough. Let's make it simple. Yes, the description is worthy of a flinch. No, you can't change people from writing drivel. Yes, you can read the actual text, make your own judgment and write a review.
If I appeared nasty, I didn't mean to at all, just speaking plainly. Ann P. -- Ann K.
