My experience is that when chapter headings start out with caps, Kurzweil has trouble reading it. I rewrite the necessary words making them caps if that's the way they were in the book. That way I know the screen readers can read them and they will appear as capitalized words in braille. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Cindy" <popularplace@xxxxxxxxx>

I've seen that style with the first words of paragraphs and in some headings. I usually just leave all the letters caps of equal size; the only way to change the first letter that I've found is to change the size of the font for that one letter.

Rick's comment about caps is interesting. We've been told that if the first word or several or sentence or part thereof of a chapter is in caps we should leave it that way. Also, I put chapter titles and other things in caps when the book has them that way. Can bookshare change them when converting to Braille? Can a member who downloads a book in Braille and doesn't want them change them to lower case?
