All solid points with which I agree.

Another problem is that once a book is submitted, the submitter is totally
out of the loop until a note of acceptance or rejection is received from
Palo Alto.
It would make sense if a submitter received an automated email when a book
was retrieved from Step 1 so that he/she would know who grabbed it and
allowing the submitter and validator to have communications if needed.

All these problems are solvable. The real culprit to the solution is that
all this would require software redesign and manpower for which Benetech
likely has not the dollars for.

The sad truth is that perhaps Benetech has gotten themselves into a
venture they may not have the $$$ to pursue effectively both from a
customer and volunteer standpoint.
Hence, we may have no alternative other than making the best of what
exists and attempting to work around it.
