Hi Jill,I'm not Dave, but I'll answer at least why I do this. They upload faster as they are smaller once zipped. It isn't required, but it doesn't hurt anything either.

No apostrophes, of course. I always replace the underscores with spaces in the filenames of the books I download from Bookshare. They just look more natural that way on my Pac Mate. I was not aware that other operating systems have problems with spaces in their filenames. I suppose I could get used to looking at, and putting in, underscores or dashes in my filenames; just like I got used to the cramped style of eight characters for filenames back in the DOS days; but I'm not going to bother unless I have to. Hopefully, someday, other operating systems will catch up to Windows with respect to being able to create more natural looking filenames. <grin> Evan ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ann Parsons" <akp@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, March 29, 2008 8:21 AM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: book upload > Hi Dave, >> No, this is *not* the issue. <smiling> Now I'm beginning to sound > like > E., God bless her.
