Don't think I'll run out and buy that though I have been lusting after the 4800 
but don't think that's going to happen either.  I think it runs $700 or so.

Well, actually (devilish grin here), Plustek makes a large format scanner, the  
OpticBook A300, but you need a cool $1,500 for the privilege of scanning 12x17 
area.  Be ready, though, it comes in at a "svelte" 24.53” x 15.75” x 5.24” 
 Wink.

Not sure it will ever make my Christmas wish list.  I keep praying for a Mac 
driver or Mac native book edge scanner...
