Lori, I have suggested the same or similar thing many times over the past
few years. When you start to scan or want to scan a book, you "submit" that
just like you submit an already scanned book. When it's done scanning, you
"check it in" just like you check in a proof read book, and then the book
gets kicked over to step 1 or whatever step 1 is called now and then it can
be checked out for proofreading.

It seems like all of the lists could then be integrated so there would be
one place to look to see if a book is already in the collection or being
worked on instead of checking:
1 - the books being scanned list
2 - the books waiting to be checked out list
3 - the books being proofread list
4 - the books awaiting approval list
5 - the collection

It's a lot of work to check 5 places and some of those places you have to go
to multiple pages to look. It's easy to miss a book.
