Thanks for that explanation. I didn't realize that was the way the scanner 
worked. I imagined that you stood there put a pile of pages on the feeder. 
It's sort of remote control.

What kind of Braille machine that John was using? It had a speaker, too.

  The book was already sitting in the scanner tray, and I was clicking on 
the scanning progam software, telling it where to put the finished .tif file 
(for conversion to .rtf using the OCR software).  I then clicked on 'Start 
Scanning' and the scanner sta rted zipping through the pages (the next 
couple of shots).
