You could try searching for single letters within the text. For example, the word don't has an apostrophe in it however, if there is only a space, it will look like don t. If you search for single letters within the document, you can then place the apostrophe in the proper place. Interesting thing is, when I'm in Openbook and I press the apostrophe key, Openbook says single quote. So I physically had to select an apostrophe from a word processing document and paste it into the find/replace dialog box of Openbook. But no, it still didn't seem to work. Thank you for the idea and I'll be glad to hear any others you might have. It may be a long shot. I just thought I would throw it out there. HTH sorry if not. I'm trying to clean up a book to be approved, and the book is an Openbook .ark file. Openbook seems to recognize apostrophes as "single quotes". When I translate the .ark file into .rtf per the instructions on Bookshare, the single quotes disappear, leaving a single space between letters. For example, the word let's becomes let s. So, I can't do a find and replace to get things right. How do I remedy this problem?
