From what staff have said here, the agreement with publishers that are providing PQ books limits Bookshare to only having the PQ version of a book once a PQ version is provided by the publisher. Bookshare is saving the scanned versions, though, so if an agreement can be reached with publishers that allows PQ and scanned copies to be in the collection, then Bookshare can make the scanned versions available again. This is a big deal for those of us that want to retain the descriptions of pictures in children's books, or other books with charts and graphs that a volunteer has described in a scanned version of a book.

So do PQ books HAVE to replace the volunteer copies in the Bookshare
library or can Bookshare keep both?

I guess it is a matter of copyright laws? Or space?
